Do we ever really grow up? I spent the day with my best friend I had since kindergarten, and time stood still we forget all the time we went to different colleges, different states with different husbands and raising children without seeing each other. Today we sat and talked as if the time between vists froze and we were once again teens talking in my bedroom in whispered voices so our parents couldn’t over hear.
We met up last year after reconnecting on a Facebook group about our old neighborhood. I cannot believe another year has passed, but we chatted from time to time, today she dropped off a beautiful baby quilt she made to give my soon to be grandson and two bottles of red wine for me. When it rains it pours, As soon as she pulled away the phone rang and it was my other best friend since I was five from church. He was also my first kiss, we found each other again when my brother died back in 2004 and the announcement was in our home town paper about the funeral. Again time had stopped and we were once again thick as thieves adding to the group his wife he met in high school, who I just adore. Unfortunately he was transferred up north 6 years ago but we text and call often. I am a very lucky person to have two friends I have kept in my life for nearly 50 years and still have everything in common and enjoy spending time with. When I am with them I go back in time, before marriage, before children and before the pain of getting older.
Anyone know where I can find some coloring books on jungle animals or zoo animals? Toys R Us only have activities books on current kids shows.
I need help making patterns for a baby quilt.
